i2 – The innovation institute

Innovation Institute:  Curious, Principled, Driven, and Reflective

Students in the i2 program pursue advanced educational coursework which is aligned with a comprehensive, rigorous curriculum. Both 9th and 10th grade students learn how to think critically and reflectively. Student enrichment activities offered to program participants lead to the development of a driven, academically-prepared student.  While many of our i2 courses are designed to provide preparation for students transitioning to the International Baccalaureate Diploma or Career-related Programme, participants are also well-prepared for Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, and Honors coursework opportunities during their junior and senior years of high school.

Freshmen participate in AP World History and Honors Biology, while also taking Honors English Language and Composition. Sophomore students participate in AP English Language and Composition and Honors Chemistry, while also taking Honors Government and Economics. During the tenth grade, students focus on academic preparation for future secondary academic endeavors. Over the course of the program, both freshman and sophomore years, students choose and engage in an additional focus through selecting a Modern Language and pursuing a CTAE or Fine Arts pathway.

It is strongly recommended that students who want to participate in our i2 program have received Carnegie credit for Physical Science and Ninth Grade Literature.
